Roland my hiking pal from my test hike in June, invited me to stay for 2 nights in Kassel in his flat close to the city center. That was such a nice offer, especially during Documenta14, when beds are rare to get
( at weekends anyway ).
But before I could take his offer, I had to go for a checkup at the orthopedic clinic in Kassel. So I took an easy walk from Baunatal, thinking the whole time about what the doctor will advise me to do. After waiting for almost 2 hours, I was checked. Unluckily my fears that I ripped some of my meniscus in my left knee were confirmed, but luckily nothing else so far did harm my knee. Of course the doctor advised me to do further examination at home and try to keep the knee still. But on the other hand, he could understand my wish to continue the project. He said its up to me, but gave me some painkillers ( they work fine ) and the strict advise, if the knee starts swelling badly to stop immediately. I am happy to continue my last 29 days (hopefully) and further on that evening had a great dinner created by Roland, celebrating to be back on track! Kassel, 12km
