My hike across Germany ended today. I reached my final destination, the border triangle of Poland, Czech Republic and Germany at 13.oo! Its kind of strange. You think about your aim a hundred times during the 50 days, but now after reaching, it feels rather like a normal spot. An elderly couple asked me to take a memory photo of them standing at the border triangle , and I was more than happy to do so! Of course I had to tell them that they got the right person to ask 😉 and took one of them as the last image for my photo project as well. 5km
Amongst a lot of people I met and got to know, it is time to say thank you to some of them especially:
To Bodo for driving me to my staring point in Aachen and medical+encouraging advice.
To Bernd, Ute+Peter, Roland, Bertram for letting me sleep over in their private homes.
To Bodo, Leo, Peter+Oliver, Maciej and Bertram for hiking with me for a day or even for 6 days like Bernd did!
To Roland, Florian+Claudia for giving me an exclusive guided tour in their cities.
To Andreas H., Thorsten F. and Paddy for everlasting support in the right moments by Email, WhatsApp and SMS.
To Bernd for his enthusiastic journalistic coverage and his hike- and text-strength!
To Tim and Mario who allowed me to take a photo at their wedding in Leipzig!
To Alexander for the excellent digital support and administration of my website, when I failed, or was offline!
To my friends and supporters allover, especially SouthAfrica, Australia, Costa Rica and California!
And finally to my beloved family, especially to my kids Leo, Moritz, Pauline and Greta and my wife Angela.
I would not have accomplish this journey, without your believe and support for this project!
Thank you all, I will never forget this time.
